Carine Roitfeld & Anna Dello Russo

decisions Carine & Anna

Your eyes are not deceiving you. Anna Dello Russo did the unthinkable; she wore the same dress three times during New York Fashion Week. I was baffled, since Anna is a woman who prides herself on always wearing only brand new clothing. As in, she wears something once and then adds it to her archives in second apartment. The journalists over at New York Magazine did some investigative work and this is what they discovered.

Oh, and I think it’s safe to say that Carine is obsessed with Givenchy this fall. Not only did she wear three different skirts by the house (here, here, and above) during NYFW, she also styled her daughter Julia Restoin-Roitfeld in Givenchy for her “Carine’s World” collaboration with Barneys.

Kourtney Kardashian

I really struggled to decide whether I should post this photo. I don’t watch any of the Kardashian TV shows. Everything I know about the Kardashians comes via my favorite celebrity blogger Michael K, and let’s just say he doesn’t paint the most flattering picture of them.

That being said, I think this is a beautiful image of a gorgeous woman. If you remove all the pre-existing Kardashian references and judge this image on its aesthetic merits, this photo absolutely deserves to be seen by my readers. It just took me a week to realize it. As a creative person I try to push myself beyond prejudices and to confront internal biases when I recognize them.

I finally had a chance to take some Chicago street-style photos this weekend. I know you guys are probably sick of so many New York Fashion Week photos. One of the things that really sucks about the “street style olympics” as my friend Mr. Newton calls it is that everyone gets the same photos of the same people in the same outfits. Sure, maybe one photographer gets a better angle or lighting than another, but content wise it’s all the same for the most part. The key word here is oversaturation. I much prefer the solitude and peacefulness of shooting street-style in Chicago, where I know that 99.9% of the photos I get are exclusive to me.
