This photo is symbolic too: I’m always the girl in the flat shoes – notwithstanding the fact that they’re either my Margiela sneakers or Celine ankle boots – next to my friends in towering heels. I like it that way. After all, I can’t run in heels.

I wanted to take a photo that was different from the other street-style photographers so I posed her in the narrow loading dock area while they were off fighting for shots of Anna Dello Russo and Bryan Boy. I love the quasi-industrial feel, and the way the sunlight perfectly frames her ombre hair.
