I am so proud of the technical aspects of this shot. After a year of drooling over other professional street-style photographers shots, I finally managed to snag a photo of a woman with a legitimate light “halo” around her hair. I had to play around with the shot a bit to get it. I’m pleased to say I’m extraordinarily happy with the way this picture came out. I especially love the contrast of the yellow leaves behind her. This photo represents fall to me in a lot of ways, it’s the color palette. Rich oranges, yellows, tans and browns dominate the image to great effect.

Arvon in the Gold Coast

Arvon 1
I believe Arvon has been featured on my blog more than any other person except maybe Jena. I adore his sense of style and it’s always a great surprise to run into him on the streets. I finally got around to talking about the New Orleans Hornets hat he always wears. I asked if he was originally from Louisiana and he laughed and said no, the reason he always wears that hat is because teal is his favorite color. He doesn’t care about sports! A fashionista after my own heart…

Candid on Walton Street

Candid topknot walking
I was standing on Walton Street chatting with my friend Morgan (the blonde one) when I saw this woman approaching us. She was walking fast, but I loved her topknot and Malcolm X glasses. I had my camera ready swung it up and snapped just in time. This woman is so cute with her cuffed pants, coiled red hair, and oxford shoes.

Cable knit sweaters are in for fall (then again, when aren’t they “in”) after being shown on the Alexander Wang and Jil Sander runways. I really love these affordable sweaters by Charlotte Ronson and Madewell (JCrew’s little sister).
