Rare Candid on Walton

RareCandid

I rarely take candid shots because I prefer the face-to-face interaction of posed photos. Plus, for ethical reasons, I like to obtain verbal consent before photographing individuals for pictures that will be seen around the world.

In this case, the man was engrossed in a conversation on his cell phone and you cannot see his face. Therefore I felt comfortable posting this image because he is fairly anonymous.

I really loved how well his jeans compliment the color and texture of the gray-blue steel panels in the Diesel store facade.

What do you all think – would you like to see more candid shots like this one?

Party at Kokorokoko this Thursday!

If you pay attention to my sidebar, you know by know that I’m throwing a MASSIVE party at Chicago’s coolest vintage store, Kokorokoko. Not only will owners Sasha Hodges and Ross Kelly be passing out free booze as enticement, but more excitingly EVERYTHING will be 25%!

Chelsey

This is the opening night of my photo exhibition. I selected a number of photos that fit in line with Kokorokoko’s aesthetic. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but you’ll probably see a lot of familiar faces on the wall (if not your own). So come on out to Kokorokoko and celebrate with me!

RSVP not necessary, but you can find all the details here on Facebook.

Kokorokoko is located at 1112 North Ashland, just south of Division. Call 773-252-6996 for more info.

The afterparty will be at Debonair Social Club, starting at 10pm, where my friend Chelsea from Stic-of-the-Week will be spinning tunes!
