LA Street Style: Ebony

ebony
Ebony was the only random passerby I photographed during my brief trip to Los Angeles earlier this week. I caught her exiting the Gap 1969 Pico Loft while I was standing out front with the other girls waiting for our car to arrive. She is a professional tech designer. Even more of a synchronicity, considering she was the only random person I spotted, was that Ebony grew up in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago before moving to Southern California. It is such a small world!

Pitchfork: Gaia Passarelli

Gaia Passarelli

Gaia Passarelli is a producer with MTV Brasil. She flew all the way up from Sao Paulo (Isa’s hometown!) for Pitchfork. This photo was taken with my new Canon EOS, but I’m not sure if I like it yet. It’s a bit grainy for my tastes even when properly focused. I prefer the clarity of the Olympus PEN. Although after shooting with the cement block that is the 1-D, the PEN felt like holding a feather!

Rhianna of Breakfast at Barneys

Rhianna full

I photographed Rhianna after the Oliver Peoples press breakfast wrapped up last Wednesday. I had only met Rhianna once before, at the Glamorama 2010 official afterparty. Before her blog Breakfast at Barneys went dormant (I’m not going to quit whining for at least another few days) it was one of my top 5 favorite blogs. Rhianna just finished up a lengthy study abroad program in Paris so her virtual absence was not without just cause. She was quite literally too busy running into Karl Lagerfeld outside Colette and taking adventures to Morocco.

Rhianna CU

As a former history major myself I am partial to fashion coverage that explores concepts and references. Rhianna delves deep into the collections and anything else that catches her eye, which makes Breakfast at Barneys one of the leading Chicago fashion blogs. She is now “officially” blogging again so please drop by her blog and welcome her back!
