Yesterday I was wandering around the Loop street-style hunting while waiting to meet up with Andrea after work. When I turned the corner off of Michigan Avenue onto Washington Street I hit the jackpot. Writing a long caption seems sacrilege with a photo this stunning because it distracts from the image. Suffice it to say this picture is going to be framed and displayed inside my house, as it represents a turning point for me in my skills like Christian did last December.
Allison is wearing a dress by Cynthia Rowley, where she used to work before snagging a job at the new Topshop. I’ve photographed Allison once before around the corner from the Cynthia Rowley in Lincoln Park. I ran into at Halsted and Armitage on my way to the El after visiting my friends at E-Drop Off. You’ll notice that she’s wearing a huge chunky menswear watch, most likely Michael Kors. This is a trend that shows no sense of slowing. Combining the tough black ankle combat boots and watch with the cool pastel shades of a silk dress creates a fantastic contrast. The best style delights in the unexpected.
This is the definition of last minute but Argo Tea invited me to hold an “Artist’s Hour” from 5:30 to 7:30 this Friday evening, September 30. The St. Clair location is closing and moving to the Tribune Tower next week so this is a kind of closing celebration as well. If you haven’t had a chance to see my photos in person it’s really a treat. I hope to see some of you there, and again I apologize for the super late notice. I just found out myself! I am obsessed with Argo Tea (literally, I’m not just saying that) so it’s been an immense honor for them to sponsor my first real art show.
