Wicker Park Fest: Candid Black and White
I recently had a conversation with my mom about pushing myself as a creative professional. She suggested that since I love color so much I should try shooting in black and white. It’s been a challenge visualizing images in B&W when I’m out photographing.
This was the first sight that struck me as something that would look really spectacular in B&W. During Wicker Park Fest I walked by this young woman sitting in the street with her friend. I only took this one photo in passing as I didn’t want to startle her or allude to my presence as a photographer. I literally held up my camera and snapped the picture as I was moving.
I like the way her limbs are folded around each other and the way she’s holding her body. I think it creates really interesting dynamic energy and a sense of movement within the frame. I’m quite thrilled with the composition of the image.
