Winter street-style in Chicago is all about layering. It’s not just a fashion statement, it’s necessary for survival. That’s why our city has some of the best winter street-style in the world and why our summer street-style could use some improvement. Chicagoans layer year-round but it’s during the coldest months that you really see our ingenuity at play.
Take a look at what Katerina is wearing. I spotted her walking down Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park. Between the proportion play of her maxidress with her coat and the texture of the fur, this is an excellent example of how to stay stylish (and comfortable) as temperatures plummet.

Although many of us choose to don puffy coats now that winter is slowly creeping over Chicago, lots of look for ways to maintain our personal style despite the weather.
