Imagine my delight when I spotted Mira on the street in floral harem pants and round blue lenses. Mira is an avid reader of my website, which makes me incredibly happy because she upholds the trend of the most fashionable people in Chicago reading my blog. I am always so flattered when I spot someone who tells me they read my site everyday, and they get bonus points with me when they name their recent favorite photo (as Mira did). It was so lovely meeting you Mira, and I’m sure our paths will cross again soon!

Delilah

Delilah R29

The day I took Delilah’s photo I was playing with my brand new EOS→m4/3 adapter. I put my Canon 50mm lens on my Olympus PEN, but much to my disappointment I was forced to use the lens on manual focus. That is a virtually impossible task so all of the photos from that day, including Tasha and Jessica’s, came out blurry. I still love Delilah’s personality-laden look (the hair! the pants! the banker’s shoes!) enough to post it, but I figured I should explain the poor focus. So that was $25 wasted…

Remember – I only picked up a camera one year ago and only upgraded to my PEN in December. I am very much a photographer in the midst of the learning curve. I like to share my experiences with all of you to maintain an open honest relationship with my readers.

Tasha & Jessica

Jessica
Tasha & Jessica

Although I normally photograph people separately, these two seemed to be great friends and both were interesting in their own way. Tasha shows us that honeysuckle pink is indeed the color of 2011. Pantone’s color forecasting never fails to fascinate me, since I can actually see the results of their predictions on the streets.

Jessica is easy-going chic with clean minimal lines, tasteful accessories, and a brilliant sense of confidence. She truly caught my street-style eye.
