
Perhaps it is my penchant for wearing bright colors – even in the winter – that makes a completely neutral look so intriguing to me. It’s my instinct as a streetstyle photographer to look deeper into someone’s appearance. Neutrals force me to notice small details like a garment’s stitching, the textures of the fabric, the quality of the leather…

The red line train was rapidly approaching the Chicago station when I noticed Crystal carrying the UNICEF Lanvin for H&M canvas tote bag. When I asked her if she was there overnight like I was, she proudly told me she was fourth in line. Not only that, the sunglasses she has on are the widely coveted yet completely unattainable Lanvin for H&M sunglasses. Spending the night outside earned me a place in the third shopping group, so I tried to purchase them for The Gaudy God and Isa Giallorenzo, but they were all sold out by the time my turn to shop rolled around. I was 50th in line, and spent the night outside in below freezing temperatures, and still couldn’t get a hold of these bad boys.
