I always give my girls over at Refinery29 first dibs on my best shots. Yoojin, with her Jil Sander-esque neon orange poncho and tiny red shorts, was a shoo-in. I spotted her on DePaul’s Loop campus. For those of you who think the red, pink and orange clashes, the fashion terminology is color blocking. It’s a central styling technique for Spring 2011. You should know by now that I am obsessed with multicolored hair. Ombre, bleached, streaked – you name it – if there’s color, I’m photographing you. So when I spotted Tiani’s bright red braid and asymmetric cut, that was it. Done. Hairstyles can make or break a street style photo, and Tiani’s ultra-stylish cut clearly identifies her as someone who understands the forces of fashion.
