Attending the Tibi Fall 2010 runway show was the culmination of my magical first fashion week. This was my first runway show at New York Fashion Week. I was seated with the buyers in the bleachers, and not in the photo pit, so my photos did not turn out very well (obviously). Although, if you look closely, you can see none other than the Man Repeller herself sitting front row in her khaki trench coat. The high quality photos are from Style.com.

Overall I really enjoyed the looks presented by Tibi designer Amy Smilovic. Several different concepts were referenced by this collection, including 90s grunge, flora and fauna, and the “little red dress.” My favorite look can be seen below; a Rorschach inspired white cocktail dress with subtle designs of bees, flowers, and birds reflected in the red print. The Man Repeller (who as mentioned above, sat front row), had her own signature take on this dress, which you can read about here.

This past Friday I stopped by the Strange Beauty Show salon to get a manicure from The Gaudy God. He was a great sport (no doubt inspired by the outrageous antics of Lady Gaga) and readily agreed to step outside into the blizzard for an impromptu streetstyle photo session. How fabulous is his vintage coat and mink collar!
Matt is styling the window installation at the “Not Your Granny’s Panties” vintage shopping party. Kokorokoko, ChiTown VinTage, and The Gaudy God are joining forces for the event, which is being hosted by Eskell boutique at 1509 North Milwaukee on January 15th and 16th. On Saturday the event will be from 11am to 7pm, and on Sunday the event will be from 12pm to 5pm. Be sure to come out and score some fabulous vintage pieces!
