This photo is of Jessica Quirk from the fashion blog What I Wore, one of my favorite personal style bloggers. I photographed her several times at NYFW in February and then visited her at her book signing here in Chicago last month. She’s a really cool and down-to-earth person, and deserves every ounce of success. I am so happy to see Jessica living the dream. She earned it.
I wanted to take a photo that was different from the other street-style photographers so I posed her in the narrow loading dock area while they were off fighting for shots of Anna Dello Russo and Bryan Boy. I love the quasi-industrial feel, and the way the sunlight perfectly frames her ombre hair.
Fashion blogger Bryan Boy is wearing a shirt from Prabal Gurung Resort 2012, which you can read about here on Vogue.com. Bryan was surprisingly down-to-earth and very cool, like the majority of the important fashion figures I’ve met during New York Fashion Week.
