Linsey is one of those Chicagoans with such a fantastic sense of style that any time I see her out she has a giant target on her. That’s the way it is with a lot of people. Her posts from last spring (here and here) defined that era of street-style hunting for me in a very real way. How lovely to photograph her again, just over one year later. I can’t believe it’s been that long.

Linsey found that single skull earring and rocks it out with a stud in the other ear. I’ve been wearing mismatched – but coordinated – earrings for a few months now. I lost single earrings from the two pairs I had made myself at Beadniks while out street-style hunting, so I ended up with only one of each. Strangely, they matched. Resourcefulness, like what Linsey demonstrated here by saving this single random earring, is one characteristic of great style. I also think wearing mismatched earrings is the perfect way to add a precise amount of chaos to jazz up an otherwise relaxed or polished look. When I reflect on my favorite street-style photographs one of the things I often find myself loving about someone’s outfit is when an element is a little “off”. Throwing a wildcard in, no matter how small, is an excellent way to bring a sense of personality.
