Rachel and Ralphy’L are quite possibly the cutest couple I’ve ever photographed. There’s no question that they’re definitely the couple with the most swag on Chicago Street Style. Ralphy’L made the bracelet Rachel is wearing under the label Mama’s Beads, an upstart jewelry company he co-owns with his rapper friends. Their group is called Mama’s Boys, and the evolution towards a creative career came out of his music.

David

David WM

David’s look is typical of the recent shift in men’s fashion. More Chicago men seem to be wearing clothes at actually fit them properly (gasp!), and just about all of them are cuffing their pants at the ankle. A crisp striped button-down shirt and supremely well manicured hair completes the ensemble.

Men’s fashion is a lot more subtle than women’s fashion. I’ve been working hard to train my eye over the past few months to notice the small things that make men’s outfits really special.

David is a change of pace for me in terms of fashion coverage. My fashion point-of-view adores the ultra-expressive and flamboyant looks because I find those people really interesting and fun to photograph, so it’s been both a challenge and a joy to push myself outside of my comfort zone.

Yoly Shoes WM

Yoly’s amazing shoes are Jessica Simpson. I have to admit, the awesomeness of these heels has completely converted me to the Jessica Simpson brand. Before, I thought it was just another vapid celebrity line. But honestly they make some really cute things. Whether or not she designs them herself is beside the point, she was obviously smart enough to work with people who can design fashion-forward pieces at an affordable price point that actually sell. That is no small feat since most mass-market brands water designs down to the point of hideousness in an attempt to please everyone. The end result? They end up pleasing no one.

Although she bought hers at Akira, you can buy them online through Zappos with free shipping!
