A big thanks to the lovely ladies over at Today’s Chicago Woman magazine for featuring me in the March 2014 issue! I was honored to be in such great company alongside the ever fashionable Jena of ChiCityFashion, Nikia from Chitown Fashionista, and Dana Weiss of Possessionista for the ‘Fashionable Four’ story on pages 44-47. The issue is available for free on newstands across the city!
Although these days I’m usually wearing monochromatic outfits in shades of black and gray, I felt like channeling bright red for a spring fashion shoot. How better to celebrate spring than with a top from Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2013 collection? He was inspired by the artist Anish Kapoor, and the top captures the overall collection’s spirit with feather prints, skeletal details, and blood-soaked flowers. It’s spring-meets-macabre in the most fantastic way.
My lipstick red cheerleader skirt from J.W.Anderson was a natural choice with its deeply saturated red and athletic design. It only took me 5 years to hunt down these Balenciaga by Nicholas Ghesquière Spring 2008 gladiator sandals on eBay after first swooning over them in Vogue while I was still in college. If I only could wear one pair of shoes for the rest of my life these would be it, practicality be damned!
Mae Rice, a journalist for Groupon, was kind enough to write an article about my blog, my wardrobe and my new apartment. I’m so honored! And thank you to Andrew Nawrocki for taking such a lovely photograph of me in the park near my apartment. I’m wearing my Balenciaga boots, Junya Watanabe coat, J Brand Jeans and of course Tom Binns earrings.
Michigan Avenue Magazine was kind enough to feature me in their September 2013 fashion issue! For the shoot I wore my Junya Watanabe coat, Tabitha Simmons knee high boots and my Proenza Schouler PS1 bag.
