Imagine a weekend full of fantastic fashion shows, delectable dining and breathtaking views. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you already know I’m not talking about another trip to New York. Earlier this October I was honored to attend South Walton Fashion Week in Florida as one of the Hilton Sandestin’s special guests.

All weekend I was blown away by everything, from the delicious food to the stunning fine art and of course, the fashion. It seemed as though everywhere we went in South Walton the community nurtured creativity, from supporting public art to establishing grant programs for emerging artists.

Afternoons were spent making incredibly difficult choices. Should I continue reading Orange is the New Black under the umbrella shade, or dive into the crystal-clear water of the gulf to cool off with the fish? It’s a tough life down on the Emerald Coast. Saturday we walked around the impossibly quaint Seaside village to visit the trunk shows where I picked up a beautiful necklace from a charming open-air bazaar.

Evenings were spent attending fashion shows and enjoying delicious dinners at the best restaurants of South Walton (Seagar’s, FTW). Two of my favorite designers were Quieesha Burns, whose architectural creations playfully explored fashion on the edge, and Nicole Paloma, whose relaxed sensibility was woven in with a more conceptual exploration of materials (keys, parachutes, belts).
