Thakoon Fall 2013

March 11, 2013  |  Runway

Many of the most beloved pieces in my wardrobe have one thing in common – Thakoon. So is it any surprise that Thakoon Panichgul is one of my favorite designers? Not only does he brilliantly create flattering and intuitive clothing, he also radiates an engaging warmth in person. Attending his Fall 2013 collection, inspired by Ray Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine, was an extraordinary privilege as not just a blogger, but as a woman who regularly wears his clothing.

Naturally, I was blown away by the collection, which featured moody yet feminine riffs on dandelions, dragonflies, and fur. Lace and sheer insets lent a va-voom sexuality to otherwise demure silhouettes. The key to Thakoon’s success is he’s cerebral but not overbearing, and is a master at extracting the essence of an inspiration and distilling it into an irrepressibly chic collection.

And as if it needs saying, the swinging cocktail dress above is already on my shopping list for fall…
