Lower Wacker Drive
Transformative fashion is like lightning – you know when it strikes. I feel uplifted, powerful, and beautiful when I wear this Junya Watanabe coat dress. Azzedine Alaïa might see his design lineage in this piece, but its sporty, athletic construction and innovative textiles are pure Junya. It’s techno-couture at its finest. Lower Wacker Drive – a deep, cavernous labyrinth of underground roads that forms the beating heart of Chicago’s Loop financial district – was the perfect backdrop for the architecture of this piece.
Lately I’ve been gravitating towards black or neutral clothing with innovative construction. For me, this coat represents a strong shift in the way I see myself – and my personal style. Fashion is freeing because we reinvent ourselves every morning when we get dressed. Style isn’t bound to the past. A more polished, adult way of dressing just feels right to me these days.
And a photo of me without my sunglasses on was obligatory, because it wasn’t until recently that multiple people pointed out that I always wear sunglasses in every personal style post. It’s because sunlight gives me migraines.

amazing. ankles sexy as hell and fantastic with that jacket. looking rather Matrix, and you know i mean that in the best way. would have guessed alaïa over watanabe, because it’s so body-con. also, i sound like a sci-fi nerd, but gonna also say Blade, like wesley snipes Blade. which is partly due to the shades. xo
