Creatures of the Wind x Freddy Krueger

Yes, it’s clear that I’m obsessed. You don’t even need to say it. I’m well aware. There’s always this weird tension of whether or not to wear a designer’s pieces to the show. Sure, it’s an obvious & predictable styling move but it’s also a kindhearted one, a way of showing designers support.

I know in some circles it may be frowned upon as uninspired, but frankly I don’t care. I wear what I like. I also don’t like smiling in my blog photographs, although I smile and laugh all the time in real life. It feels too cheesy I guess.

I’ll cut to the chase and share what I wore to the Creatures of the Wind Fall 2013 show last Thursday. The starting point was my Creatures of the Wind Fall 2012 sweater inspired by Freddy Krueger, which I layered over a black J.Crew button-down shirt. For grounding, I wore my favorite Rag & Bone black jeans and thrifted Bill Blass coat, found on Chicago’s Southside for only $15 – just one reason I love diving south of Roosevelt. Creatures of the Wind x J.Crew psychedelic oxfords were a no-brainer. The only jewelry I wore was the Margiela H&M hair necklace, which eerily matches my own shade of chestnut brown hair. You know, for the whole creepy horror movie vibe inspired by the top…
