Chicago... Oak Street: Frankie

Chicago… Oak Street: Frankie

chicago street style

I often hear from people on Twitter, through emails, or in person, how much they want to be spotted by a street-style photographer. I always tell them that if they dress well and have good luck, sooner or later they’ll be spotted. Frankie is one of those people. Last summer he saw me out style hunting and tweeted at me that I hadn’t spotted him. I never know what to say because I don’t want people to feel like it’s a reflection on them if I don’t spot them. I feel bad when people get upset if I don’t photograph them, but I don’t know what else to say except that this is just a blog, and it’s run by one person, and there are a plethora of different factors that influence not only who gets spotted, but whether (and when) the photos are eventually posted. I want to emphasize that I am not some “fashion judge.” I’m just a photographer who likes to take pictures of things that I find interesting.

Suffice it say, I had no idea what Frankie looked like and I finally photographed him last weekend on Oak Street. See, it does happen! It might have taken a year since Frankie first started following my blog, but eventually I randomly spotted him! So please, please don’t feel bad if you see me out and I don’t stop you, because there’s always next time!

  1. Ah. That’s me lol

For the record..I believe I just tweeted that I’d seen you in action..but don’t think I was necessarily looking to get photographed the day I spotted you last summer, I was actually in a rush and heading back to work after a lunch break..much like I was this day lol

Excuse the serious face, guys..I’d have been smiling if it wasn’t so damn hot outside. =P

Love how the pic turned out! Thanks again, Amy! Perhaps I’ll see you out again? =D
