 “Connecticut” Zara postcard

September 7th, Americans who live everywhere from the mountains of Alaska to the backwaters of Louisiana bayous will be able to shop at Zara on their new online shop. Ironically well-known for not advertising, Zara is a master of fast-fashion with a two week turnaround schedule from design studio to retail floor. Since expanding to Chicago, Midwesterners have swarmed over the Spanish brand’s minimalist chic interpretations of current trends. There is a reason that Dana Lorenz once famously tweeted, “Stopped by Zara, I mean Prada/Celine/JilSander, today.”

I love Zara and am really excited that my friends in Arkansas and across the country can now benefit from Zara’s accessible take on fashion trends. In anticipation of the online store’s launch, Zara sent me a package of postcard-inspired photos from around America, one card for each of the 50 states. I pulled out the cards for the eight states I’ve lived in. That’s why when people ask me where I’m from originally, I pause for a minute while thinking about how best to explain it. I guess I can just say I’m from America.

  5. Thanks for posting! I licensed a few images to Zara for this campaign and was curious to see where they would end up.
