Spring 2012 New York: "Athletic Couture"

Little videos like this one by Style.com are the perfect way to digest the overwhelming cornucopia of Fashion Week. I’m learning that the most valued skill in fashion is editing. The reason fashion experts are, well, experts is because they have the eye, the references, and the knowledge to slice through oceans of images, designs, and garments to select the best of the best. That is why I would never, ever call myself a fashion expert. I’m a fashion lover. Expertise is something that is developed and honed over years, unless you’re a child prodigy like Tavi (who would probably be curing cancer if she wasn’t fashion blogging) or a brilliant writer with a Rainman-like ability to instantly identify even the most obscure reference à la Susie Bubble.
