I ran into two of my friends, Catherine and Bonnie Kate, on my way into Pitchfork. Long story short, I know these two lovely ladies through a mutual friend, Justin Staple, whom I met on the airplane ride to Jamaica during my MSU study abroad trip. He was traveling there as a high school student to learn more about music production at the University of the West Indies, where my boyfriend (at the time) and I were also planning to study. All three of them just graduated from the University of Chicago. Congrats guys!
My friends over at ikram kickstarted my burgeoning love affair with Maison Martin Margiela. I have to admit, I didn’t really “grok” the aesthetic until recently. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve always loved directional fashion. It’s just that Margiela is more minimalist than I’m used to lusting after.
These Margiela open-toed leather boots are perfect in every way. The height is manageable, leather smooth, and nude color entrancing. I don’t usually obsess over nude/beige/tan colors, so leave it to Margiela to achieve the impossible.
