One of the major perks of being a street-style photographer is that I get to stop majorly hot guys on the street. More of them are starting to dress better with the whole “Gentleman’s Revolution,” a sartorial movement encouraging men to actually take pride in their appearances. This has been accelerated by the recent formation of Net-A-Porter’s brother site, Mr. Porter, an e-commerce site that edits the best of men’s fashion. To better acquaint themselves with Chicago’s style set, Mr. Porter co-hosted an event last night with CS Modern Luxury Magazine at Ian Schrager’s PUBLIC Chicago Hotel. Gorgeous guys were out in force, and before the storm rolled in I was able to snap seven of the hottest looks for Refinery29.

I initially stopped Sarah because I love how neon yellow and brown neutrals look together. It wasn’t until I began taking close-up photos that I realized that – to my surprise – she had dreadlocks! Aesthetically I adore dreadlocks. I was also excited, as a street-style photographer, to be able to present a photo of a woman with locked hair who isn’t wearing the stereotypical hippie clothing. This photo from Electric Forest Festival is framed and hanging in the hallway in my house. That’s how much I love the way dreadlocks look.
