Sarah: T.J.Maxx Style Scout Series

March 28, 2013

I met up with Sarah in Chicago’s Loop, where she was wearing the perfect combination of a flirty striped top, denim jacket and jewelry she made herself. Her outfit is a great example of how to take a trend like stripes and make it your own. Her burnt orange clutch and leopard print heels lend just the right amount of polish to this perfect everyday look.

I worked with Corrie to recreate Sarah’s look in New York City last week.  I thought the bright pink stripes added an extra pop of color for an exciting spring twist, and leopard print shoes add a fierce individuality to even the most casual weekend looks! On top of that, I got this designer striped blouse at a great price: $29.99 at T.J.Maxx, compared at $60 elsewhere.

I can’t wait to share the rest of my T.J.Maxx Style Scout street-style photographs featuring real women with incredible personal style with you over the next week!

When I caught up with Charlotte on Chicago’s South Side, I loved how powerful and confident her outfit was! I especially adored how her pants elongate her figure with the black & white panels, one of the biggest trends for spring. A great, well-fitting pair of pants is an easy way to instantly add polish to a spring outfit.

Then I had a blast recreating her outfit on Brynn. Black & white designs were all over the Spring 2013 runways, but it’s easy to channel those trends with quality pieces at a great price from T.J.Maxx. I scored the black & white sandals at T.J.Maxx for $39.99, compared at $79 at department stores. Just goes to show you that all you need to have great personal style is the confidence to take a trend and make it your own!

Lea in Bucktown

Lea in Bucktown

Lately I’ve thinking about how great style is more than just wearing fantastic clothes. It’s a state of being. When I spotted Lea shopping on Damen Avenue in Bucktown I instantly knew I wanted to capture her image. She exudes a certain je ne sais quoi I find incredibly appealing as a photographer.

Plus, as a brunette myself I couldn’t help but swoon over her gorgeous long hair…
