One of the best ways to stay on-trend for spring 2013 is to embrace a ‘ladylike’ look complete with romantic sheer fabrics, sorbet colors and soft knits. I spotted Annie in Chicago’s River North neighborhood wearing a lacy pale pink petticoat, metallic oxfords and an open-weave sweater. Her playful embrace of one of the season’s hottest trends is a lesson to all of us on how to channel self-expression through fashion.
I had a blast recreating the look! Since I often shop for sought-after brands and designer fashions at T.J.Maxx, I knew I’d be able to find similar pieces at a great price. Maya is wearing a lace skirt, which she perfectly styled with adorable flats – also from T.J.Maxx. It’s easy to buy a statement piece like this lace skirt to instantly update your wardrobe for spring!
Bold black and white pieces are shaping up to be one of spring’s must-have items for every woman. I caught up with Victoria in Chicago’s Gold Coast shopping district when her striped blazer caught my eye. I love how she paired such a graphic, tailored piece with shorts for a stylish take on the black and white trend. Victoria is another great example of a woman who dresses for herself, and uses her appearance as a way to express herself to the world.
To recreate Victoria’s look I styled Gabby with a designer blazer, which is available for $34.99 at T.J.Maxx compared to $58 elsewhere. I also chose to go with lemon jeans to show you how to combine two trends – in this case black & white with the ladylike sorbets we saw all over the runways for Spring. I love shopping at T.J.Maxx where I can get quality, designer brands that allow me to express my personal style!
The fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman always looks polished and chic, and looks fantastic in all black or optimistic prints. I love that she doesn’t limit herself to just one look. Oh, and like me she also has a serious love affair with red lipstick…
