Me!

 Amy
Many thanks to my friend Benjamin Bradshaw of SisterMan for photographing me at Drunk Mall. I am wearing one of my finest SisterMan pieces, a bold floral print romper from the early nineties. I was going for a delusional Floridian housewife who thinks she’s a celebrity, circa 1992!

Featured in ME: IN FOCUS Magazine

September 23, 2010  |  Chicago Street Fashion, Editor's Style

I was featured in the September 2010 issue of ME: IN FOCUS Magazine as one of Chicago’s 30 under 30 rising stars! I am also listed as a contributor in the front of the issue. I chose to use the photo of Shawn I took at Glamorama to represent my work. That photo is one of my favorite pictures on this website. I chose not to use a photo of myself for an important reason – because the heart and soul of this website consists of the random fashionable people in Chicago who I meet on the streets. Truly, this website is about all of you, and recognizing your endless creativity and spirit. As Chicago Streetstyle Scene grows and changes I want to be sure that I never lose sight of the real reason for this website: to celebrate and publicize all you stylish Chicagoans out there!

I am so honored to be recognized for my work. I owe everything to all the fabulous people pictured on this website. It’s because of all of you that Chicago Streetstyle Scene is generating so much buzz! I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to every single person who let me photograph them. I also need to thank all the wonderful ladies over at ME: IN FOCUS; Iya, Diana, and most of all Bee!

Please stop by the digital newsstand to read the article! I’ve embedded it below. You wouldn’t want to miss the other 29 fabulous up-and-coming Chicagoans, now would you?

Derek Smith of Pretty Lights

Amy and Pretty Lights
Derek Smith of Pretty Lights is my absolute favorite musician and has been for well over a year. Frazier knows that I ONLY drive to Pretty Lights and automatically dials it into the car iPod when I take the wheel. On the way home from Grand Rapids last weekend we listened to Making up a Changing Mind twice and my all-time favorite album, Filling Up the City Skies. Derek is not only the coolest guy on the planet but he’s also incredibly friendly. Hanging out with him and his friend Samantha backstage today was a dream come true!
