Chicago-based fashion designer Anna Hovet is wearing her own creation above. She presented her Spring 2011 collection in Macy’s Fashion Incubator runway show at Fashion Focus Chicago in Millennium Park. Anna has worked her way up through the Chicago fashion scene, first as a stylist at Akira while earning her BFA at the Art Institute of Chicago, then to designing for clients like Calvin Klein at Kids International, and now to designing her own line. Chicago native Jennifer Hudson was Anna’s first celebrity client, and certainly won’t be her last.

Designer Nicole Miller

Nicole Miller
Meeting Nicole Miller was my first fashion rock star moment. It was such an honor to be invited to her private party to benefit the Mercy Home of Chicago. She was surprisingly warm for being one of the world’s most accomplished fashion designers.

Fashion is a medium best used as a vehicle for self expression. I am endlessly fascinated by people whose creativity and individuality radiate through their personal appearances. Sky truly sparkles in her chainmaille and sequins. She constructed several of the pieces in her captivating ensemble herself. Sky works with several mediums, including chainmaille, hand embroidery, scherenschnitte, and cosmetics.
