Glamorama was a spectacular event in its own right, but the afterparty is what really elevated the evening into “lifetime memory” territory. The official Macy’s afterparty was staged on the seventh floor of Macy’s on State Street – the second largest department store on the planet. Attendees wound their way through a magical wonderland of different niches – from a real life Candyland sponsored by See’s to a wood-paneled men’s lounge replete with craft beers and a smorgasbord of freshly sliced meat. The swag ranged from free Gucci Flora perfume to rave-worthy laser flashing rings. As the DJ spun dance hits two professional hula hoopers (who also performed at String Cheese Incident’s Rothbury 2009 reunion show) spun and writhed on platforms on either side of the dance floor. Even Jeremy and my brother Matt, neither of whom enjoy fashion as much as I do, declared Glamorama to be one of the best nights of their lives. I cannot wait to attend Glamorama 2011!
