Not only is Ellen Sandor a champion of the arts in the Chicago philanthropic community, she also has killer taste in fashion. Layering a Comme Des Garcons cape over an Ohne Titel dress is nothing short of brilliant, though she credited Ikram when I complimented her style. Ellen, you get credit too – after all, you’re wearing it!
And really, would we expect anything less from a woman who serves as a Lifetime Trustee at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chair of the Gene Siskel Film Center, and founded the photography & art cooperative art(n) as a pioneer of digital media in 1983?

I have to admit, I love Rumi Neely’s blog. It’s one of the few personal style blogs that I check regularly, and I’d be lying if I said her obsession with Céline sunglasses hadn’t worn off on me (although I own the Wayfarers, not the Audreys)…
Last fashion week I was fortunate to meet legendary menswear icon Nick Wooster near Milk Studios. I’ve always wanted to photograph him as I know my blog skews heavily towards women’s fashion. It’s not that I don’t appreciate men’s fashion, it’s that I find it easier to approach and photograph women.
There’s something intimidating about a man who knows how to dress. In Chicago, they tend to be important people who aren’t as receptive to street-style photographers as well-dressed women are. Men at fashion week are different, and being photographed outside the shows is a way for them to raise their profile in a way that private citizens aren’t interested in.
So for all my male readers – and women who love stylish guys – here you go…
