While I’m out street-style hunting, it’s exceedingly rare that I’ll stop someone just for being beautiful. Because really, I’m out there looking for great style – which has nothing to do with how you were born. But I found Allison so mesmerizing that I couldn’t help myself. I guess that’s why rules were meant to be broken…
I’m thrilled to share with you that my street-style photograph of Garance Doré (whose blog I check more than any other) was published in the March 2013 issue of German Elle. What an honor to have my picture of one of my favorite bloggers printed in a fashion magazine!
My instinctual curiosity surrounding the chaos of the universe is one of the driving forces behind my love street-style photography. I love throwing myself out into the swirling energy of Chicago’s sidewalks, looking for inspiration and beauty. It’s rare for me to randomly spot the same person two weekends in a row, wearing two equally streetstyle photo-worthy outfits. I had to take that as a sign, right?
Aside from having a killer sense of style (duh, look at her Isabel Marant sneakers and pitch-perfect Kate Spade ‘Picnic Apple’ wristlet) it turns out that Mackenzie is an aspiring copywriter looking to break into the advertising industry. And for those of you who don’t know, my day job is as a freelance copywriter at a Fortune 500 company. It’s obvious that anyone with style this cool clearly has the potential to work as a creative professional. What’s fashion, if not a daily creative exercise?
