I am so dreadfully behind on uploading street-style photographs. There is no excuse for it. Well, there kind of is. I finally landed my first job as a freelance copywriter (yay!) and I am taking two classes this quarter. And there’s that whole New York fashion week thing. If I’ve photographed you in the past two months and you haven’t seen your photo, don’t despair! I haven’t forgotten you!
Rhianna and Anikó
Last month I hung out with my friend Rhianna of the now-defunct blog Breakfast at Barneys. We went out for pizza at Fred’s to say goodbye for the semester. Although her family lives in Chicago and she returns often (which is how we became friends, duh) Rhianna attends Tufts University in Massachusetts. I began reading her blog over a year prior to starting my own. Even before I ever met her in person, I knew we’d eventually become great pals. A mutual obsession with Julia Restoin-Roitfeld is always an excellent sign that bonds will be formed. It’s quite ironic now that I’m the blogger and she’s the reader! I also dined with her best friend Anikó Blake, who was as delightful and stylish as her reputation had led me to believe.
Mmmmmm… pizza at Fred’s.
When I ran an errand to the CTA headquarters a couple weeks ago, the last thing I expected to find was someone to photograph for my blog. When I got up to the second floor customer service counter I saw Stella several places ahead of me in line.
Shit, I thought, I am totally going to follow her out and lose my place in line. Why couldn’t she be behind me!
But hey, such is the life of a street-style photographer. Whenever I see anyone with a personal sense of style I do whatever it takes to get the shot. Including sacrificing an afternoon waiting in line at a government bureaucracy.
