Stephanie, Brandon and Dawn work in the fashion industry and were kind enough to give me loads of advice about working in the industry. Stephanie and Dawn both work for Ford Models and Brandon runs TwentyThirtyForty.net, a Chicago-based forward thinking online boutique and blog. Dawn was especially helpful and generously spent over fifteen minutes teaching me about how to interact with industry professionals. I learned two very important lessons from her – asking people people what they do for a living is far more important than who designed their clothes, and always bring 3 times as many business cards as you think you’ll need to an event.
