Tiffany & Co. Atlas Collection

Every woman loves jewelry from Tiffany & Co. The famed jeweler reached out to me with the opportunity do a streetstyle shoot with the brand-new Spring 2014 Atlas® Collection, in stores later this spring. I’ve never felt more glamorous on a generic workday than last week, when my friend Dana came with me to the Michigan Avenue flagship for a lunchtime fashion shoot. Audrey Hepburn had it all wrong with breakfast!

My streetwear-inspired look with the grey beanie, Japanese silver leather jacket and Kenzo sweatshirt was inspired by the idea that Atlas® jewelry is modern, fresh, and young enough to work with a variety of styles – not just the preppy look, which might be more expected. The Atlas® earrings and medallion I’m wearing above are part of an exclusive traveling jewelry show making its way across America’s Tiffany boutiques.

March 4, 2014  |  Personal Style, Press

A big thanks to the lovely ladies over at Today’s Chicago Woman magazine for featuring me in the March 2014 issue! I was honored to be in such great company alongside the ever fashionable Jena of ChiCityFashion, Nikia from Chitown Fashionista, and Dana Weiss of Possessionista for the ‘Fashionable Four’ story on pages 44-47. The issue is available for free on newstands across the city!

Although these days I’m usually wearing monochromatic outfits in shades of black and gray, I felt like channeling bright red for a spring fashion shoot. How better to celebrate spring than with a top from Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2013 collection? He was inspired by the artist Anish Kapoor, and the top captures the overall collection’s spirit with feather prints, skeletal details, and blood-soaked flowers. It’s spring-meets-macabre in the most fantastic way.

My lipstick red cheerleader skirt from J.W.Anderson was a natural choice with its deeply saturated red and athletic design. It only took me 5 years to hunt down these Balenciaga by Nicholas Ghesquière Spring 2008 gladiator sandals on eBay after first swooning over them in Vogue while I was still in college. If I only could wear one pair of shoes for the rest of my life these would be it, practicality be damned!

Manolo and Me

Manolo and Me

For the longest time, I thought I was a Louboutin girl. The first pair of shoes I ever ‘invested’ in were the Louboutin Simple 85s, which I purchased my junior year of college. Back in 2007, there was something that felt dated about Manolo Blahniks. Oversaturation caused by the likes of Carrie Bradshaw and her crew are partially to blame. These days, nothing feels more chic than a shoe without a platform.
