Dove's Great Style Effect

Dove’s Great Style Effect

I photographed 25 Chicago women for┬áDove’s new Facebook app The Great Style Effect, where you can learn how to get the stylish looks worn by girls on the street using Dove products. I loved working on this project because most imagery used by beauty companies promotes unrealistic body standards for women, which damages self-esteem. Obviously I’m biased in favor of street-style, but I truly think that fashion should use ‘real’ people (a.k.a. non-models) as often as possible. Why do you think blogs are so popular? If anything, we bridge the aspirational fantasy of style and beauty with the authenticity of real people. Go Dove!
